It features some of the fabulous characters from "Delly Duck," who my very talented sister Suzy created - thank you, Suzanne Garland! ❤️ - and Suzy also shared her wisdom with me when I was teaching myself how to illustrate the new characters for this story, because I wanted to prove to myself that I could. This story is extra-special to me, because I illustrated most of it myself. "Room in the Nest" is an inclusive story of fostering, reunification, kinship care and adoption, that can be used to explain the Family Court system, the role of social workers and different types of foster care. I am absolutely thrilled! I wrote this story to help my (adopted) son to understand the different outcomes from foster care that his foster siblings had. 🏅 Delighted that "Room in the Nest" has just won the Literary Titan Gold Book Award! 🏅
